Privacy policy
1. Who we are
Senso is a temperature monitoring service operated by Bloctech, a company registered in the State of Qatar under Commercial Registration No. 251404. In this policy, “Senso”, “we” and “us” mean Bloctech.
Bloctech is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy, except where we say we act on a customer’s instructions. We handle personal data in line with Qatar’s Law No. 13 of 2016 on Personal Data Privacy Protection.
This policy applies to sensoqa.com, the Senso customer portal and the emails we send. It covers our customers, the people who use a customer’s account, and anyone who receives Senso alert emails. Senso is a service for businesses and is not intended for children.
2. The data we collect
Senso is built for businesses, so we collect only what we need to run your account.
- Account details. The name, business name, email address and phone number of the people who manage your Senso account.
- Business details. Your branch names and locations, and the names you give your equipment and sensors.
- Alert recipients. The email addresses you add so that your team receives temperature alerts.
- Billing records. Invoices and payment status for your subscription. We do not currently take card payments online, so we do not collect card details.
- Support messages. Emails and other messages you send us, and our replies.
- Technical data. When you sign in, we record basic technical information such as the date and time, your IP address and your browser type. We use it to keep accounts secure and to fix problems.
Most of this comes directly from you, or from our technician when your system is installed. Alert recipients’ email addresses come from the customer who added them.
We do not ask for or collect personal data of a special nature, such as health information.
3. Sensor data and analytics
Our sensors record temperature and humidity, along with battery level, signal strength, a device identifier and the time of each reading. These readings describe equipment, not people, and are not personal data.
We use sensor readings to:
- show live temperatures and their history in your portal
- send alerts when a reading goes outside the range you set
- produce your Monitoring Reports
- analyse how the service and the equipment it monitors are performing, so that we can improve accuracy, reliability and the features we offer.
We also use sensor readings to produce statistics and insights. Where these go beyond your own account, they are combined across customers and anonymised, so they cannot be linked to you, your business, your branches or any individual.
We do not sell your sensor data.
4. How we use personal data
We use personal data to:
- create and manage your account, and sign you in securely
- send alert emails and reports to the people you have chosen
- invoice you and keep our business records
- answer your questions and provide support, including site visits
- keep the service secure and investigate problems
- meet our legal obligations.
We rely on our agreement with you, on our legitimate purposes in running a secure and reliable service, and on legal requirements. Where the law requires your consent, we ask for it, and you can withdraw it at any time.
We do not sell personal data. Alerts, reports and invoices are part of the service, not marketing. We will only send you marketing messages if you have agreed to receive them, and you can opt out at any time.
5. Who processes your data, and where
We use a small number of service providers to run Senso. They process data only on our instructions, and only to provide their service to us.
| Provider | What it does for Senso | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database for accounts, alert settings and sensor readings | Singapore |
| Hostinger | Server for our sensor network, which receives readings from your gateway | Mumbai, India |
| Vercel | Hosting for our website and customer portal | Company based in the United States |
| Resend | Sending alert and service emails | Company based in the United States |
| Cloudflare | Domain and DNS for sensoqa.com | Company based in the United States |
This means your data is stored and processed outside the State of Qatar. We remain responsible for your data wherever it is processed, and we take steps to make sure it is protected to the standard this policy describes.
We may also share personal data in three other situations:
- with our professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants, where they need it to advise us
- with courts, regulators or other authorities, when the law requires it
- with a buyer or successor, if Senso or Bloctech is sold, merged or restructured. Your data would stay protected by this policy.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account data and your monitoring records for as long as your subscription is active, and for at least one year after it ends. We do this so that your temperature records remain available if you need them for an inspection, an audit or a dispute, and so that we can meet our own legal and accounting obligations.
When we no longer need personal data, we delete it or anonymise it. Anonymised sensor statistics may be kept for longer, because they no longer identify anyone.
You can ask us to delete personal data sooner. We will do so unless we need to keep it for a legal reason, and we will tell you if that is the case.
7. How we protect it
- Connections to our website and customer portal are encrypted.
- Each customer can see only their own account’s data.
- Access to customer data on our side is limited to the people who need it to run the service.
You can help by keeping your password private and telling us when someone who had access to your account leaves your business.
No system is completely secure. If a breach is likely to cause serious harm to your personal data or your privacy, we will tell you and the regulator, as the law requires.
8. Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to make the site work, such as the one that keeps you signed in to the customer portal. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
If this changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
9. Your rights
Under Qatar’s personal data law, you can:
- Access your data. Ask whether we hold personal data about you, and receive a copy of it.
- Correct it. Ask us to fix anything that is inaccurate or out of date.
- Delete it. Ask us to erase personal data we no longer need.
- Object. Tell us to stop a use of your personal data that you believe is unnecessary or excessive.
- Withdraw consent. Where we rely on your consent, take it back at any time.
To use any of these rights, email info@sensoqa.com. We will reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the data protection department of Qatar’s National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA).
10. If you receive Senso alerts
If you receive alert emails from alerts@sensoqa.com but did not sign up yourself, the business you work for added your email address to its Senso account. We act on that customer’s instructions, and we use your address only to send you alerts and reports for that business.
To stop receiving them, ask the account holder to remove you. You can also email info@sensoqa.com and we will arrange it with them.
If you are a customer, please make sure the people you add know that they will receive alerts from Senso.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Senso develops. We will post the new version on this page and change the date at the top. If a change significantly affects how we use your personal data, we will email account holders before it takes effect.
